Our vacation in SFO inspired me to make this bread. I have kept my sourdough starter for about 7 years now and am always looking for ways to use it. I did a previous post on sourdough english muffins and bread where you can get the recipes, but just wanted to give you a close up of the different shapes and cuts that you can make your bread.
The first four are shaped into a boule or round and the last is called a batard. I wish I had a basket to proof it in it looks really cool with concentric rings going around horizontally, but alas, I do not.
I’m sure the French have names for all of the cuts I made, but without scouring my bread books I don’t remember any of them.
